Rockingham County: Opioid settlement funds to expand treatment for addicts

Rockingham County is projected to receive at least $2.87 million in opioid settlement funds from various pharmaceutical companies and distributor settlements. A portion of this money will go toward boosting the Rockingham County Corrections facility's medication-assisted treatment, which combines prescribing and administering medications to treat substance abuse with counseling and other services.

“We are going to utilize that money to help the most people we possibly can,” said County Commissioner Chairman Brian Chirichiello.
